- Although not a TPCi-sanctioned event, this was the first major tournament to feature Celestial Storm as a legal set.
- Jon Eng was the defending champion, having won the inaugural ARG Invitational in 2017 as a first-year Masters player. He almost pulled off back-to-back wins, but was cut short in a mirror match loss to his friend Isaiah Bradner (himself a first-year Master) in the finals.
